Music Ministry

The music ministry enhances our worship experience by providing preludes, anthems, and special music to augment the hymns sung during worship services.
This music is generally provided by the four standing church choirs:
The Grace Notes choir is a primarily adult mixed vocal choir that participates in worship about three times per month.
The King’s Men is a male vocal choir that sings several times per season (fall and winter/spring)
The For His Glory Ringers is a handbell choir that also participates in worship several times per season.
The FELC Praise Band plays more contemporary music or arrangements of the classic church catalog several times
per season.
Soloists and other instrumental groups also participate in worship occasionally.
Our major event during the year is the Christmas Cantata, which has been a tradition for more than three decades. The cantata has typically featured a large vocal choir, with a handbell prelude. Singers and musicians from outside our congregation join our choirs for rehearsals starting in October. The cantata is presented in early December, and all monetary offerings are donated to local charities.
The choirs generally meet from after Labor Day in September until Memorial Day near the end of May. Church membership is not a requirement for joining any of these groups; all are welcome, although the Praise Band has a limited number of openings. If you are interested in joining us, or would like some additional information, please either call the church office at 208-522-9301 or email musicdirector@firstlc.com.
