Jason Ginsburg

Pastor Jason's Bio

Hello, my name is Jason and I serve as the Associate Pastor here at First Lutheran Church. I see my role primarily as one helping others come to know and experience the living Jesus and learning how Jesus and real life connect together.

I grew up in Maryland and sensed God was calling me to preach and become a pastor when I was in 8th grade. At first I wanted nothing to do with it. After four years of wrestling with God, I accepted the calling to pastoral ministry and am grateful and humbled that God called me to this position. I went to seminary in Virginia at Liberty Theological Seminary and received the degrees of Masters of Divinity and Masters of Arts and Religion. It was from there I did my internship at a church in Roanoke, Virginia; then accepted my first pastoral call out to Colorado; and from there to here at First Lutheran Church.

Even though I am a pastor, I am still learning what it means to be a disciple (follower) of Jesus. Every time I preach, I always preach not just to the congregation, but myself as well. My prayer for myself is that when others encounter me, they encounter Jesus living in me.

I am married to my beautiful wife, Emily, and have a black lab named Bernice. I enjoy playing sports of all kinds, watching movies, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Heide Weatherby

Heide Weatherby's Bio

My name is Heide Weatherby. I was born and raised in Redford Township, Michigan, and attended college in Detroit to become a Graphic artist. At the age of 25 I took a trip to Snowmass, Colorado, and discovered I needed to live in the mountains. I moved to Snowmass the following year. Four years later I moved to Idaho Falls. I have two daughters, Hailey and Taylor. Hailey is in a Masters/PhD program for Clinical Psychology at Seattle Pacific University and is married to Jesse Caudle. Taylor lives in Boise and is in her senior year at Boise State University in Athletic Training. We have been members of First Lutheran since 1997. Both girls made their first communion and were confirmed at First Lutheran.

In my spare time I enjoy downhill and x-country skiing, swimming, biking, running, hiking, camping, gardening and reading.

In October of 2013, I was fortunate to have First Lutheran hire me for the position of Church Administrator. It has been such a blessing to work with and for so many wonderful people. Part of my responsibilities is to take care of the Building and the Property and attend all council meetings. So when the Property Liaison seat became available, it seemed natural that I should fill that spot also.

I look forward to many more years at First Lutheran and the opportunity to work with all of the wonderful members here.

Andrew Williams

Andrew Williams's Bio

Hello, my name is Andrew Williams and I serve as the Coordinator of Family Ministries here at First Evangelical Lutheran church. I see my role here as reaching out parents and their children, so they are able to come closer to the word and most importantly the Lord, as well as helping live in the word in both the parents and children's daily lives.

I grew up mostly in Montana, although we moved more than most in my earlier years. In 2009 my parents, sister, her daughter and I moved to Idaho Falls, ID. I had struggled with having veneration towards my faith all my life, in 2010 I went on a mission trip to Heart Butte, MT. We served selflessly for a week to the Native Americans on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. In that week, my reverence towards the Lord, my faith and living in the word flipped completely.

I have been a member of First Lutheran since 2010 and I am truly humbled to have become a part of this wonderful church. Growing up feeling conflicted in my faith as much as I did is what I aim to avoid when it comes to the children within church. I hope to pass along the knowledge in the word and love that the Lord has for us to future generations. We are all learning what is means to be a disciple of the Lord and I hope to walk alongside parents and grandparents so we can collectively come closer the word in our daily lives.

I am truly blessed to be married to my beautiful wife Chantelle, we have two children, Charles H. Williams and Blaklee R. Williams. We also have a Scottish terrier named Boston. We enjoy watching movies as a family, socializing with our friends and family at gatherings. I enjoy almost all sports, I appreciate golfing most of all. When I am golfing whether it is snowing, raining, or just the Idaho wind. I still find myself breathless for the work of art that God created. Most of all I love spending time with my Family.
